Orion area

This is the area of the sky that contains the Horsehead Nebula also known as Barnard 33.

Closer look at the Orion area

The Horsehead Nebula is located very near the star Alnitak belonging to Orion's belt.

Horsehead Nebula

Below is the object that I was imaging. This is the stock photo in the program Stellarium that I use to determine imaging targets, etc.

My Final Image

And this is the image I took using my equipment. This image comprises of 60 photos at 3 minutes each for a total of 3 hours of light gathering. I was using the Optolong L-eNhance dual-band filter. The L-eNhance significantly blocks light pollution while allowing up to 90% transmission of H-Alpha, H-Beta and Oxygen III emission lines.
For my next imaging session, I will switch to the Optolong L-Pro which is a multi-bandpass filter allowing better color balance when doing photography. When I combine the two sessions, this will provide a more balanced image but for now, this is what I have.

Ok, now my Final Image

I added 2 more hours using the L-Pro filter
